Enable Care provides specialist care at our home, 1 Sewardstone Close, for residents between the ages of 18 and 65 years with an ABI or other complex neurological conditions.
The service is aimed at those who have completed their acute rehabilitation and now require further care and rehabilitation in a non clinical setting.
We offer services to people with different levels of physical or cognitive ability. Our high quality nursing and clinical team are able to support and manage a variety of complex needs.
As well as nursing and rehabilitation placements we offer interim and respite placements when available. Length of stay is dependent on the circumstances of each resident and their specific goals.
Our in house therapists provide all the therapies, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, psychology and psychiatry required for people to continue to build on their existing skills but in a slower, lower intensity environment than the acute phase of rehabilitation. The programme includes an interdisciplinary team approach with goal setting, outcome measures and supported discharge planning.
Our team of highly skilled nurses, rehabilitation staff and therapists provide care for people requiring longer term, ongoing support after their acute rehabilitation phase, to ensure that they maintain any gains they have previously made in rehabilitation.
We care for and manage people with low levels of consciousness, seizure activity and PEGs. We believe that an acquired brain injury should not hinder a person’s access to an inclusive and varied care package and a full range of suitable and stimulating activities.
Interim placements are available for clients who require specialist care on a short-term basis whilst waiting for adaptations to be made to their own home or for a new property to be completed.
We offer respite placements for people who require support from our team on a short-term basis, to allow a family carer a break.
